A WSJ Article says Sanofi-Aventis' (SNY) Acomplia Weight-Loss Drug Increase Rate of Suicidality

A WSJ article says the FDA has reported Acomplia, Sanofi-Aventis' proposed weight-loss drug, was effective in promoting weight loss, but increased the rate of suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

Acomplia is sold in several European countries and SNY is seeking U.S. approval.

Acomplia will be reviewed on Wednesday by an FDA panel and the FDA typically follows its panels' advice, but isn't required to.
